Kids' backpack for an insulin pump and phone
A small, lightweight backpack for children who need to keep a mobile phone, insulin pump or other small diabetes-related essentials with them throughout the day. It is designed to stay comfortable during everyday wear without getting in the child's way.
This is not a regular children's backpack for snacks, toys or larger personal items. It is deliberately compact and intended mainly for carrying devices the child needs to keep close at hand – for example a phone used to monitor glucose levels or an insulin pump.
It can, of course, also be used simply as a small backpack for a mobile phone. Its design is primarily tailored to the everyday needs of children with diabetes.
Which version should I choose?
This version is intended mainly for a mobile phone. It has no additional inner pockets and is deliberately kept as small as possible so the child does not have to carry anything unnecessarily bulky.
It fits most standard smartphones. If the phone is around 17 cm long, has a very bulky protective case, or you want to carry additional items, I recommend choosing the larger version.
The roomier version has two separate inner pockets – one for a mobile phone and one for an insulin pump. This keeps the phone and pump in their own spaces rather than lying loose on top of each other.
The pump pocket is designed to accommodate larger commonly used tubed pumps, including the Medtronic MiniMed 780G.
If the child does not use a pump, the larger version can also be used for a phone and a small hypo kit, such as glucose tablets or a small juice box.

The backpack has a zip with two sliders. On the pump-and-phone version, a small gap can be left between the sliders so the insulin pump tubing can pass through. This allows the tubing to be routed to either the right or left side, depending on the child's needs. The backpack does not have a separate cut-out opening for the tubing.

How to choose the chest circumference
Before adding the product to your cart, select the child's chest circumference. Measure around the chest where the backpack will be fastened. The straps are adjustable, so they can be loosened or tightened as needed.

If the measured circumference is on the boundary between two sizes, I recommend choosing the larger range. If you are unsure, select “Other size” and enter the exact circumference in the order note.
Materials and care
The outer layer is made from winter softshell. Inside, a durable stroller fabric and Stylevil reinforcement are used. The softshell outer layer helps protect the contents from normal moisture and light rain.
The backpack is not waterproof. The seams and zip are not watertight, so I do not recommend exposing it to heavy or prolonged rain or using it while bathing or swimming.

Important information
The smaller version is intended mainly for a phone. For a phone around 17 cm long, a phone in a bulky case, or if you need to carry additional items, I recommend the larger version.
The backpack is not a medical device or a protective case that guarantees protection of an insulin pump, phone or other device against impact, water or damage.
It is not intended for bathing, immersion in water, use in heavy or prolonged rain, or sleeping.
For young children, adult supervision is recommended during use.
For some patterns, a matching sensor armband may also be available. Availability of the same fabric depends on current stock.
